Global Ship Lease chairman buys 237,194 shares, lifts stake to 26.44%

Charlotte, N.C., Dec. 1 - Global Ship Lease, Inc. chairman and president Michael S. Gross increased his stake in the company to 26.44% with the purchase of 237,194 shares between Nov. 20 and Nov. 30 priced from $1.33 to $1.50 each, according to a schedule 13D/A filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday.

Between Nov. 16 and Nov. 19, Gross bought 867,301 shares priced from $1.07 to $1.42 each, a prior SEC filing said.

Gross beneficially owns 14,139,170 shares of the company's stock.

New York-based Global Ship Lease owns and charters container ships to container liner companies.
