Global Power Equipment seeks six-month exclusivity extension

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Dec. 22 - Global Power Equipment Group Inc. requested a six-month extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company wants to extend its exclusive plan filing period to July 25, 2007 and the solicitation period to Sept. 21, 2007.

The company said the extension is needed to allow it to develop and test a business plan and analyze intercompany claims.

A hearing is scheduled for Jan. 9.

Global Power, a Tulsa, Okla., maker of gas turbine power plants and power-related equipment for industrial operations, filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 28. The Chapter 11 case number is 06-11045.
