Global Home Products requests 120-day exclusivity extension

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Aug. 7 - Global Home Products LLC requested a 120-day extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Monday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company wants to extend its exclusive plan filing period to Dec. 6 from Aug. 8 and the solicitation period to Feb. 6, 2007 from Oct. 9.

According to the motion, the company is devoting a significant amount of time to the sale of its WearEver assets and analysis and litigation of administrative and reclamation claims, as well as analyzing information in connection with the reorganization of its Anchor Hocking business.

Global said it needs more time in its complex case to formulate a plan of reorganization.

A hearing is scheduled for Sept. 6.

Global Home Products, through its Anchor Hocking, The Burnes Group and WearEver businesses, is a Westerville, Ohio-based designer, marketer and manufacturer of branded consumer and specialty products to retail and hospitality customers and original equipment manufacturers. The company filed for bankruptcy on April 10. Its Chapter 11 case number is 06-10430.
