Northern's Global Fixed Income Fund drops manager Daniel Smith
By Toni Weeks
San Diego, Sept. 13 - Northern Funds announced in a 497 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission a portfolio management change for its Global Fixed Income Fund.
David Blake, who has managed the fund since April 2008, will now be the sole portfolio manager of the fund. Previously, Daniel Smith was a portfolio manager along with Blake.
The fund seeks to maximize total return consisting of capital appreciation and income consistent with reasonable risk by investing at least 80% of its net assets in bonds and other fixed-income securities. The investments are made primarily in investment grade fixed-income securities.
Chicago-based Northern Trust Investments, Inc. and Northern Trust Global Investments Ltd. are the joint investment advisers of the fund.
