Global Aviation eyes exclusivity extension to allow plan negotiations

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Feb. 7 - Global Aviation Holdings, Inc. requested an extension of its exclusive periods for filing a plan of reorganization and soliciting votes on that plan, according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company wants to extend its exclusive filing period by 61 days through May 12 and the solicitation period by 61 days through July 11.

Global Aviation said it intends to file a plan before its initial exclusivity period expires on March 12, but it wants the extension out of an abundance of caution in case plan negotiations continue into March.

Global Aviation, a Peachtree City, Ga.-based provider of charter air transportation for the U.S. military and of commercial global passenger and cargo air transportation services, filed for bankruptcy on Nov. 12. The Chapter 11 case number is 13-12945.
