AlphaRx receives notice of allowance for acne patent

Tampa, Fla., Sept. 12 - AlphaRx, Inc. has received a notice of allowance from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for its patent application entitled "Stabilization of Benzoyl Peroxide in Solution."

The company said benzoyl peroxide is one of the most widely used compounds for acne treatment due to its significant antimicrobial activity, mild keratolytic and duct opening properties.

AlphaRx is an emerging biopharmaceutical company based in Markham, Ont.
