Moody's lifts Peugeot view to positive

Moody's Investors Service said it affirmed the Ba1 corporate family rating for Peugeot SA and the Ba1-PD probability of default rating.

The agency also revised the company's outlook to positive from stable.

Moody's also said it affirmed the Ba1 senior unsecured rating of GIE PSA Tresorerie.

The outlook revision reflects the continued improvements in the company's operating performance and a stronger and faster improvement in the restructuring of Opel Vauxhall, the agency said.

Moody's also said it believes that Peugeot has additional potential to further improve its financial metrics, although in an environment that will be more challenging toward year-end and in 2019.

The rating also reflects an expectation that PSA has restructured its business in a way that would offset its exposure to Europe, the agency said.
