S&P changes Ghana to positive

S&P said it affirmed its B- long-term and B short-term foreign and local currency sovereign ratings on Ghana.

The outlook was revised to positive from stable.

“The positive outlook reflects the potential for us to raise the ratings over the next year if Ghana implements and adheres to measures that should sustainably alleviate the still substantial pressure on public finances, if external weaknesses start to abate and if monetary policy transmission materially improves,” the agency said in a news release.
