Alphabet plans to issue up to $450 million notes for refinancing

Portland, Ore., Dec. 2 - Alphabet Holding Co., Inc. plans to sell up to $450 million of new notes via Rule 144A and Regulation S, according to a company press release issued on Monday.

The notes come in conjunction with a consent solicitation with respect to proposed amendments to the indenture governing the company's 7¾%/8½% contingent cash pay senior notes due 2017.

Barclays is the solicitation agent for the amendment. The early deadline for consents is Dec. 10.

The vitamin company is based in Ronkonkoma, N.Y.
