S&P rates Georgia-Pacific notes A+

Standard & Poor’s said it assigned its A+ issue-level rating (same as the corporate credit rating) to Georgia-Pacific LLC’s proposed senior unsecured notes.

S&P said the ratings on Georgia-Pacific, including the A+ corporate credit rating, reflect the company’s credit characteristics – including S&P’s assessment of the company’s “strong” business risk profile, “exceptional” liquidity and “modest” financial risk profile.

The ratings also reflect S&P’s view that Georgia-Pacific’s credit profile is enhanced by the strength of its parent, Koch Industries Inc.
