Moody's upgrades Georgia Transmission

Moody's Investors Service said it upgraded the issuer rating of Georgia Transmission Corp. to A3 from Baa1.

The outlook also was changed to positive from stable.

Moody's also said it affirmed the company's prime-2 short-term rating for its commercial-paper program.

The upgrade and positive outlook consider the company's consistently solid financial performance and low business risk profile as a not-for-profit service provider, the agency said.

The company's solid financial performance is expected to continue over a multiyear period, Moody's said.
