Alpha Natural Resources starts roadshow for $200 million eight-year notes

By Paul A. Harris

St. Louis, May 5 - Alpha Natural Resources LLC started a roadshow Wednesday for a $200 million offering of eight-year senior notes (B3), syndicate sources said.

The deal is expected to price mid-week during the week of May 10.

Credit Suisse First Boston is the bookrunner for the Rule 144A offering. Citigroup and UBS Investment Bank are co-managers.

The notes will come with four years of call protection.

Proceeds will be used to refinance debt and to fund a distribution to the parent, ANR Holdings LLC.

The Abingdon, Va.-based company processes and sells high BTU, low sulfur steam and metallurgical coal in the Appalachian region.
