Calamos taps Black to replace Nick Calamos on two convertible funds

San Diego, Aug. 31 - The Calamos Convertible and High Income Fund added Gary D. Black to its portfolio management team, according to a 497 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Black replaces Nick P. Calamos as president of investments and co-chief investment officer of Naperville, Ill.-based Calamos Advisors LLC, the fund's investment adviser.

The fund seeks to provide total return through a combination of capital appreciation and current income by investing at least 80% of its managed assets in a diversified portfolio of convertible securities and high-yield non-convertible debt securities. The two types of investments account for at least 80% of the fund's managed assets.

Black has also been appointed as global co-CIO and CIO of Alternative Investments for the Calamos Convertible Opportunities and Income Fund, again replacing Nick Calamos.

This fund invests at least 80% of its managed assets in a diversified portfolio of convertible securities and nonconvertible income securities. At least 35% of the managed assets are invested in convertibles.
