Williams Capital hires manager for new Sacramento municipal venture

Kansas City, Kan. Oct. 16 - Williams Capital Group LP has hired Sean Boyea to manage the firm's west coast investment banking operation in the new Sacramento offices as well as James Carter as a vice president in the Chicago office, according to a news release.
"[Boyea] brings extensive experience and relationships that will enable Williams Capital to deepen our coverage of California clients and expand our capabilities within the state," head of municipal finance Jacqueline Knights said in a news release.
Boyea brings 25 years of public finance experience to the firm. He has worked in senior investment banking positions with Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and M. R. Beal and has held senior strategic and financial advisory positions with Boyea Capital Markets and Public Financial Management.
Carter held municipal finance positions at Jacksons Securities and Cabrera Capital Markets before moving into investment banking at JPMorgan.
Additionally, the firm announced it has hired James Cahill, Donovan Hamlet and Peter Nahlen. Cahill will join the municipal sales team, while Nahlen and Hamlet will be associates.
Williams Capital is a New York-based investment bank.
