Macquarie hires Hefner as managing director, head of ratings advisory

Cleveland, May 2 - Macquarie Group Ltd. announced that Gregory Hefner joined Macquarie Capital as managing director and head of ratings advisory in a further expansion of its debt capital markets business capabilities.
Hefner joined from Moody's Investors Service, where he was head of U.S. issuer relations. Prior to Moody's, he worked at Wachovia Securities, where he was head of credit ratings advisory; GE Asset Management Inc., where he was a fixed income portfolio risk manager; and Morgan Stanley, where he held a number of roles including head of Latin America and head of Asia Pacific for the credit and ratings advisory group.
Hefner has a Master of Business Administration degree from New York University's Stern School of Business and a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College's Carroll School of Management.
"Bringing specialist ratings advisory capability will help us ensure that we address a wider range of needs across an increasingly diverse client base," Rob Redmond, vice chairman and U.S. head of corporate finance, said in a news release.
The financial services and banking company is based in Sydney, Australia.
