Nomura adds Decker to U.S. team as head of convertibles origination
By Marisa Wong
Madison, Wis., Sept. 22 - Nomura Securities International, Inc. said it has appointed Douglas Decker as managing director and head of convertible bond origination to help strengthen its investment banking team in the United States.
Decker will be responsible for all aspects of marketing and carrying out equity-linked solutions for Nomura's clients. He will work closely with William Brett, managing director in the corporate equity derivatives group.
Philippe Dufournier, head of global finance, said that Decker will also partner with Neeraj Hora and Ken Brown, who are responsible for the firm's equity-linked and corporate equity derivative business globally.
Decker joins Nomura from Wells Fargo in New York where he worked as head of equity-linked origination since 2007. Prior to Wells Fargo, he worked at Barclays Capital in London for six years where he built a market leading franchise as head of convertible origination for Europe and Asia.
Nomura's chief executive officer Kenichi Watanabe said that he aims to transform the Tokyo-based brokerage into a global financial firm.
