Blaylock Robert Van appoints St. James senior VP of municipal banking

Chicago, Sept. 9 - Blaylock Robert Van LLC said that A. Christopher St. James has joined the firm as senior vice president of municipal banking effective Sept. 2.

St. James will be responsible for helping to bolster the firm's municipal finance banking. He will report to Aquacena Lopez, head of the municipal practice.

Most recently, he was vice president at Rice Financial Products Co., a minority-owned investment bank, where he managed key client relationships and marketed the firm's investment banking and sales. Before that, he was a senior vice president at Jackson Securities, an investment bank based in Atlanta, where he managed the firm's West Coast public finance practice.

St. James also has worked in the municipal finance departments at several investment banks including Ramirez & Co., Inc., Charles A. Bell Securities Corp., Charles Schwab, Merrill Lynch and E.F. Hutton & Co.

St. James brings more than 20 years of experience in investment banking, financial advising and account relationship management, according to a company press release. He has managed more than $175 billion of financings for West Coast states, counties, cities, utility and transportation clients, the release noted.

St. James has a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of California at Davis.
