BTIG announces seven hires to expand U.S. fixed-income sales, trading

Madison, Wis., July 21 - BTIG, LLC announced the continued expansion of its U.S. fixed-income sales and trading business with the addition of Jeff Growney, Mike Rodeno, Drew Meany, Irene Fan, Tim Sumner, Brian Danahy and Kevin McGuire to its high-yield, high-grade, convertibles and structured products group.

Growney will be based in the New York office as a managing director in the fixed-income high-yield sales team.

Prior to BTIG, he was managing director of high-yield and distressed sales at Imperial Capital.

Over a 25-year career in fixed income, Growney has worked with Lehman, UBS, Citi and Wachovia.

Rodeno will also be a managing director in the fixed-income high-yield sales team and will be based in Los Angeles.

Prior to BTIG, Rodeno was managing director at Imperial Capital Los Angeles, where he spent four years in institutional sales and trading covering mutual funds and hedge funds for fixed-income, equities and convertible products.

Before Imperial Capital, he spent 15 years as a managing director in institutional equity sales coverage for JNK Securities, ABN Amro, Lehman Brothers and Tucker Anthony.

Meany joins BTIG's New York office as a managing director in fixed-income high-yield and distressed trading.

He has 15 years of experience trading both high-yield and distressed securities in the United States and Europe. Meany has worked at Christopher Street Capital and at Imperial Capital, where he was a partner.

Previously, he worked in London as the head high-yield trader for Toronto Dominion and Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein.

Fan will be based in San Francisco as a director in the fixed-income sales structured products group.

Fan has been focusing on providing sales coverage to institutional clientele.

She was most recently with Jesup & Lamont Securities and KBW.

Sumner is also joining as a director in the fixed-income sales structured products group and will be based in Boston.

Sumner was previously with Piper Jaffray in the institutional credit/structured product sales group.

Before that, he was a director of fixed-income sales at Barclays Capital and Merrill Lynch.

Danahy joins BTIG's Boston office as a director in the fixed-income high-grade sales team.

He has over 10 years of experience in fixed-income sales and trading.

Most recently, Danahy was in the institutional fixed-income sales group at Piper Jaffray.

He has held a similar role at UBS and has also worked as an investment-grade trader at both Putnam Investments and Columbia Management in Boston.

McGuire joins BTIG's San Francisco office as a director in the fixed-income convertible sales team.

Most recently, he worked at Lazard Capital Markets and B.Riley & Co. LLC.

Before that, he was a senior convertible salesman at Robertson Stephens' convertible sales and trading desk. McGuire has also been a senior proprietary options trader at Paine Webber and a proprietary and facilitation convertible securities trader at Wertheim/Citigroup.
