Ramirez expands municipal finance, sales groups with six new hires

Milwaukee, April 15 - Samuel A. Ramirez & Co., Inc. announced six new hires as part of the continued expansion of its institutional sales and municipal finance groups.
Ronald Banaszek has joined the firm's institutional sales group as a managing director and sales manager, while Peter Koch and Timothy Houston have joined as vice presidents.
The sales team, previously with UBS, will report to Dan Keating, chief operating officer of Ramirez, and will be based in New York.
The municipal finance group has hired Alfredo Quintero, Richard Allen and Nadine Mentor. The bankers will report to Ted Sobel, head of municipal finance.
Quintero has joined as a managing director and will be based in New York. Allen has joined as a managing director and will run the Michigan region and school district business. Mentor has joined as a senior vice president and will run the Florida and Southeast regions.
Quintero worked in public finance at Merrill Lynch and focused on prominent tax-backed issuers in the Northeast. He has a background in federal tax law and New York State local finance law.
Allen's focus has been on primary and secondary educational financing. He was chairman of the board of Allen Consultants, directed the municipal consulting department of Michigan National Bank and worked as deputy director of the Municipal Finance Commission in the Michigan Department of Treasury. Allen has also worked at UBS and at Bear Stearns.
Mentor was an associate at UBS, where she covered major Northeast issuers. She also worked for Citigroup, concentrating on issuers in Florida. Most recently, Mentor has focused on non-profit projects, micro-finance and economic development in developing countries, as well as community initiatives throughout Florida.
Ramirez is a securities firm headquartered in New York.
