B. Riley & Co. expands research, banking, sales with six new hires

Milwaukee, March 2 - B. Riley & Co. LLC announced the addition of six professionals to its research, banking and sales and trading sectors.

Kevin McGuire joins B. Riley's San Francisco office as managing director specializing in convertible bond trading and sales. He has experience with structuring and restructuring of convertible issues. McGuire was previously with Lazard Capital Markets, where he was senior vice president in convertible securities. He is a graduate of the State University of New York.

Scott Bunton joins the firm's Los Angeles office as senior research analyst of post reorganization equities. He has expertise in special situation equity opportunities across a wide variety of industries. Bunton was previously a research analyst with Imperial Capital, LLC and is a graduate of UC Berkeley.

Jay Datta is a senior research analyst covering semiconductors in the firm's New York office. He was formerly vice president and technology research analyst for Palisade Capital and Sandler Capital and a semiconductor equity analyst at Hoefer & Arnett. Datta graduated from Calcutta-based Jadavpur University with a B.S. in engineering, received an M.S. from Southern Illinois University and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

James Grebenc joins B. Riley's equity sales department in New York. He was formerly director of institutional equity sales at JMP Securities. Grebenc also held institutional equity sales positions at WR Hambrecht & Co., Lehman Brothers, Inc. and Robertson Stephens, Inc. He graduated from Ontario, Canada's Wilfrid Laurier University and holds an MBA from the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management.

On special assignment, Matt Toole works for the firm in New York. Toole brings 18 years of experience as a sales trader and market maker. He was head trader and director of operations for Sunrise Securities in New York and has worked as an equity sales trader for both Gaines Berland and First Montauk Securities. Toole graduated from Santa Clara University.

Christopher Sigala joins the firm's Los Angeles office as an associate research analyst. Sigala was previously associate of corporate tax/transfer pricing at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California, Leventhal School of Accounting.
