Fitch names Eric Friedland U.S. public finance group credit officer

Milwaukee, Aug. 31 - Fitch Ratings announced that Eric Friedland has joined the firm's U.S. public finance group as managing director and group credit officer.

Under Richard Raphael, executive managing director of Fitch's U.S. public finance group, Friedland will oversee the group's rating criteria and credit policy.

Friedland has over 20 years of experience working in the municipal bond market. He was the director of municipal research at Belle Haven Investments, after having worked for 15 years at Financial Security Assurance where he was a director in the public finance group.

Friedland is also a former National Federation of Municipal Analysts chairman and currently serves on the Board of Municipal Analysts Group of New York.
