Baker & McKenzie adds to insolvency, restructuring practice in Toronto
By Angela McDaniels
Tacoma, Wash., June 9 - Baker & McKenzie LLP said it expanded its insolvency and restructuring practice with the addition of a three-partner team to its Toronto office: Chris Besant, Frank Spizzirri and Lydia Salvi.
The trio were previously with Cassels, Brock & Blackwell and have been involved in many of Canada's largest insolvency matters, according to a Baker & McKenzie news release.
Besant will chair the firm's Canadian financial restructuring and recovery practice. The firm said Besant has significant experience advising clients on insolvency law and is a regular speaker and writer in the field.
Spizzirri's practice involves all aspects of bankruptcy and insolvency work, with a particular focus on litigation and adversarial proceedings.
Salvi's practice focuses on corporate restructurings, distressed merger-and-acquisition transactions and secured financings.
Baker & McKenzie is a law firm based in Chicago.
