By Devika Patel

Knoxville, Tenn., June 9 - Morgan Joseph & Co. Inc. announced in a press release that Joseph J. Castro will become a managing director and head of convertible securities sales and trading. He reports to Matthew Stedman, who is in charge of fixed income.

A 24-year Wall Street veteran, Castro worked 13 years at McMahan Securities, where he was a managing director and partner and where, as a member of the firm's executive committee, he was head of convertible bond sales. More recently, Castro was a managing director at Baird Patrick & Co., Inc., where he worked as a senior manager and adviser to a multigenerational family trust and foundation. Castro also has held senior trader positions at Lieber & Co. and its Evergreen Group of Mutual Funds.

He has a bachelor's degree in economics from Boston College and a master's of business administration in finance from Iona College's Hagan School of Business.

Castro has experience in creating, structuring, pricing and cross-marketing convertible securities, Stedman noted in the release.

Morgan Joseph is a New York-based investment bank.
