Markit announces roll of Markit CDX indexes

By Jennifer Chiou

New York, March 19 - Markit announced the roll dates for the Markit CDX family of indexes.

The Markit CDX North America Investment Grade and the Markit CDX North America Investment Grade High Volatility will roll into series 12 on March 20.

The Markit CDX Emerging Markets and Markit CDX Emerging Markets Diversified indexes, which will roll into series 11 and series 9, respectively, also have a roll date of March 20.

The Markit CDX North America High Yield has a roll date of March 27 for series 12.

The Markit MCDX series 12 roll is set for April 3 while the Markit LCDX series 12 roll is set for April 15.

Dealers voted for the roll dates, according to a news release.

They opted against rolling the Markit CDX North America Crossover index into a new series due to lack of liquidity.

The investment banks licensed to trade the Markit CDX indexes are ABN Amro, Bank of America, BNP Paribas, Barclays Capital, Citi, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, JPMorgan, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, UBS and Wachovia.

Markit provides independent data, portfolio valuations and over-the-counter derivatives trade processing to the financial markets.
