Moelis hires new recapitalization, restructuring managing director Mark Hootnick

Knoxville, Tenn., March 9 - Moelis & Co. announced that Mark Hootnick has joined the firm as a managing director in its recapitalization and restructuring group.
Hootnick will be based in New York. He has over 14 years of restructuring experience, providing restructuring advice on restructuring transactions both in Chapter 11 and in non-bankruptcy driven resolutions.
After beginning his career as an attorney at Kramer, Levin, Naftalis & Frankel, he became a founding member of Miller Buckfire. Hootnick also was a managing director at Greenhill & Co. and Imperial Capital. He most recently was a managing director at Broadpoint Securities.
"Expanding our restructuring capabilities is a top priority of our firm as we continue to explore new and innovative ways to help our clients solve the problems they are facing in these challenging times," Moelis chief executive officer Ken Moelis said in a press release.
Based in New York, Moelis is an investment bank.
