LSTA re-elects Newberry as chair of board of directors

New York, Jan. 15 - The LSTA re-elected Tom Newberry as the chair of its board of directors for 2009, according to a news release.

Ian Sandler from Morgan Stanley was re-elected vice chair, along with Greg Stoeckle from Invesco was elected vice chair for the first time.

Rick Stewart from Nomura was re-elected as the treasurer.

Several current board members were also re-elected to two-year terms, including Laura Rogers of Ares, Lisa Opoku of Goldman Sachs, Kevin Burke of GE Capital and Bob Wagner of Silverpoint.

Incoming board members who were elected to new two-year terms are Douglas Antonacci of JP Morgan, William Hughes of Barclays, Dan Norman of ING Asset Management, David Frey of Stanfield and Christine McConnell of Fidelity.

Also on Thursday, the LSTA announced that Alicia Sansone was promoted to executive vice president of the association, where she will be responsible for communications, marketing and education.
