Knoxville, Tenn., Jan. 12 - Janney Montgomery Scott LLC announced in a press release that Kimberly Welsh has joined the company's Boston office as a managing director of municipal capital markets.

Welsh will provide dedicated banking coverage to municipal bond issuers in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and throughout New England.

Welsh joins Janney from Morgan Stanley, where she was head of New England and head of the National Housing Group. She has 20 years of experience in working with municipal bond issuers on general infrastructure as well as revenue backed bonds. Prior to Morgan Stanley, she worked for UBS/PaineWebber for 18 years.

Her experience includes general obligation bonds, sales tax bonds, housing, water and wastewater, transportation and securitizations of various other revenue sources.

Welsh received her master's of business administration in public finance from the University at Albany. She graduated magna cum laude from Boise State University, where she received her bachelor's in finance and was selected Outstanding Finance Graduate.

"This is a great way to start the new year. Kimberly's experience and insight will be of great benefit to our expanding team in Boston and further supports the firm's mission to strengthen all sectors within our capital markets business unit in order to better serve our municipal and institutional clients," Janney's head of municipal capital markets Steve Genyk said in a press release.

Philadelphia-based Janney provides financial advice and service to individual, corporate and institutional investors.
