NYSE Arca wants to list options on structured products; SEC seeks comment
By Angela McDaniels
Tacoma, Wash., June 13 - NYSE Arca, Inc. is seeking permission to list and trade options on structured products, according to a news release from the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Specifically, the company has proposed a rule change that would allow the trading of options on equity index-linked securities, commodity-linked securities, currency-linked securities, fixed income index-linked securities and multifactor index-linked securities. The security underlying the option would have to be exchange traded.
The options would need to meet the NYSE Arca's listing criteria for underlying securities and would be subject to all exchange rules governing the trading of equity options.
The SEC is soliciting comments on the proposed rule change.
