F&C appoints Peter Stage as head of credit research

By Paul A. Harris

St. Louis, Feb. 13 - F&C has appointed Peter Stage to the new position of head of credit research, according to a company press release.

Stage joins F&C later this month from Gordian Knot Ltd., a specialist credit investor, where he has been head of credit. At F&C he will report to Patrick Hendrikx, head of credit.

"Credit is a core competency at F&C and a key product for us in both the institutional and retail client market places across Europe," Hendrikx commented in the release. "This is an important appointment that will strengthen the support we provide to our portfolio managers enabling them to focus on the delivery of strong investment performance."

Stage has been responsible for an 11-strong team at Gordian Knot providing the credit analysis of around $60 billion of predominantly investment-grade exposure in two funds, the Sigma Finance Corp. and the Theta Corp., spanning asset-backed securities, banks and other corporates.

At F&C he will direct the credit research process, managing and mentoring both the investment-grade and high-yield credit analysts.

F&C is a manager of credit with in excess of £21 billion under management in investment-grade corporate bonds, high-yield bonds and floating-rate notes. Its credit teams work from London and Amsterdam.
