MSRB appoints Janet Eakes as chief operating officer
By Sheri Kasprzak
New York, Oct. 14 - The Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board said Tuesday that it has appointed Janet Eakes as its chief operating officer and has also promoted two others in its senior management team.
Eakes will join the MSRB on Nov. 3 and she will oversee the board's market information department, as well as enterprise-wide management of data and information technology.
She had previously served as senior vice president of mortgage sourcing operations at Freddie Mac.
Elsewhere at the board, Harold Johnson was promoted to deputy executive director, having previously served as deputy general counsel, and Ernesto Lanza was promoted to general counsel from senior associate general counsel.
"The promotions of Hal and Ernie will enable each of them to most effectively guide the organization," said Lynnette Kelly Hotchkiss, the MSRB's executive director.
"With the addition of Janet, this leadership structure and the associated expertise will be fundamental to advancing MSRB's mission."
In other news at MSRB, the board hired John Doyle as its director of project management. He will manage projects that support the MSRB's market information goals, according to a statement. Previously, he worked for the municipal securities division at UBS Securities.
