Wachovia Securities names Decker as new head of equity-linked origination team

Seattle, Aug 16 - Wachovia Securities announced on Thursday that Douglas Decker has joined the equity division as a managing director and head of equity-linked origination.

Decker is based in New York and reports to Andy Sanford, managing director and head of equity capital markets.

According to a company news release, Decker comes to Wachovia Securities after six years at Barclays Capital in London, where he was the firm's head of convertible origination and was responsible for Barclays' convertible business in Europe and Asia. When he first joined Barclays, Decker was head of the convertible bond research team and managed a team of four analysts, covering European and Asian convertibles.

Before joining Barclays, Decker worked at Morgan Stanley for seven years in the firm's convertible securities research area.

He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in business from Duke University.
