Fried Frank announces hiring of Atiyah to financing practice

Des Moines, May 23 - Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP hired Ghassan M. Atiyah as a corporate partner in the company's financing practice in Washington.

Atiyah was previously at Hogan & Hartson LLP. Before that, he served as general counsel for international affairs at the National Bank of Kuwait and worked in the banking and finance group at Shearman & Sterling LLP.

He received a law degree with honors from Columbia Law School. He has a bachelor of science in foreign service, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University, School of Foreign Service.

"We are delighted to welcome Gus to our firm," said Varie Ford Jacob, Fried Frank's chairperson, in a news release. "Fried Frank's financing practice continues to grow at a very rapid rate. Gus has broad-based financing expertise that will serve the needs of this practice well."

Fried Frank is a law firm with offices in New York, Washington, London, Paris, Frankfurt and Hong Kong.
