KPMG Corporate Finance hires Lorie Beers as managing director in special situations group

Pittsburgh, Dec. 2 - KPMG Corporate Finance LLC has hired Lorie Beers as a managing director in the firm's special situations advisory group, according to a news release.
KPMG said its special situations advisory group specializes in assisting distressed middle-market companies maximize their economic recovery.
Beers will lead the division in providing out-of-court and in-court merger and acquisition, corporate finance and restructuring advisory services to underperforming companies, debtors, creditors, creditors' committees, equityholders and other constituents.
Before joining KPMG, Beers was the director of business development of Gordian Group LLC, and she previously held positions as the chief operating officer of STC Associates and as partner in the bankruptcy and insolvency practice at Kasowitz, Benson, Torres and Friedman LLP.
In addition, Beers developed the Complex Financial Restructuring Program for the American Bankruptcy Institute and has spoken on panels for the institute and the Turnaround Management Association and is a member of both.
She holds a juris doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh and a bachelor's degree in economics from Dickinson College.
KPMG is a middle-market investment bank based in Chicago.
