Based in Singapore, Jha will be a senior regional economist and lead the firm's coverage of macro-economic research on the Indian sub-continent and Indonesia. He will report to Peter Redward, Barclays' head of emerging Asia rates research.

"I am delighted to welcome Sailesh to Barclays Capital's Asian economics research team. With his extensive experience in both public and private sector Asia strategy and economics research, Sailesh will play an important role in further strengthening and differentiating our Asian macro-economic research offering.
