Imperial Capital acquires Giuliani's San Francisco operations to expand corporate finance/restructuring

Pittsburgh, April 25 - Imperial Capital, LLC has acquired Giuliani Capital Advisors LLC's San Francisco operations, which consist of five professionals, as part of Imperial's expansion efforts, with a focus on growing its corporate finance/restructuring advisory service as well as its high-yield, bank loan and equity sales and trading businesses, according to a company news release.

Eric R. Carlson will be the managing director of Imperial's San Francisco office.

He was previously managing director in Giuliani's San Francisco office and has more than 14 years of experience working with boards of directors, management teams and creditors facing financial challenges.

Carlson received his bachelor of science degree in accounting from Pace University and is a member of the Turnaround Management Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute.

Jason Thomas will be the senior vice president in Imperial's San Francisco office. As part of the corporate financing and restructuring practice, Thomas will provide investment banking and related services, including financial restructurings, acquisitions, divestitures and equity financings, as well as senior and subordinated debt placements.

Thomas spent nine years at Giuliani, most recently as a director in San Francisco. He holds a bachelor of arts in economics from the University of Michigan and a Masters of Accountancy from the University of Wisconsin.

Thomas is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, is a certified public accountant and a certified insolvency and restructuring adviser.

Barbeau Roy will be a vice president in Imperial's San Francisco office. He was a director at Giuliani, where he provided investment banking and advisory services to corporate clients and other constituencies in distressed situations.

In addition to his client-serving experience at Giuliani and its predecessor, Ernst & Young Corporate Finance, Roy was an executive at two enterprise software companies. He received his bachelor of arts in economics from Duke University.
