Morgan Stanley hires Ashok Nayyar as co-head for leveraged, acquisition finance

By Angela McDaniels

Seattle, Feb. 22 - Morgan Stanley has appointed Ashok Nayyar as a managing director and co-head of leveraged and acquisition finance, according to a company news release. He will begin on May 1.

Nayyar worked previously at Salomon Brothers, where he was head of U.S. leverage finance, and Citigroup Inc.

"Morgan Stanley continues to view leveraged and acquisition finance as a strategic growth opportunity for the firm," Michael Petrick, global head of the corporate credit group, said in the release.

"Ashok represents an important addition to the team as we continue to build out and dedicate resources to this effort."

Nayyar will partner with co-head Michael Hart. Both will report to Petrick and Colm Kelleher, head of global capital markets.

Morgan Stanley is a financial services firm based in New York.
