Alvarez & Marsal hires Stan Speer as managing director in Los Angeles

Pittsburgh, Dec. 18 - Alvarez & Marsal hired Stan Speer as a managing director, based in Los Angeles, according to a company news release.

According to the release, Speer has more than 24 years of experience as a public company chief financial officer and financial adviser to both debtors and creditors, and he specializes in advising and assisting boards of directors, investment groups, management groups and lenders in a wide range of turnaround, restructuring and reorganization situations.

Before joining Alvarez & Marsal, Speer spent 10 years as CFO for Cadiz Inc. and subsidiary Sun World International.

Before Cadiz, Speer was a partner with Coopers & Lybrand.

Speer earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Southern California.

He holds certifications as a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor, is a member of the Financial Executives Institute and is a past board member of the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors.
