Wells Fargo chooses John Shrewsberry to head Securities Investment Group

By Angela McDaniels

Seattle, Jan. 23 - Wells Fargo & Co. said it has named executive vice president John Shrewsberry as the new head of its Securities Investment Group.

He will be responsible for Wells Fargo's portfolio of fixed-income investments, including corporate, high-yield, mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities.

Shrewsberry was a senior manager in Wells Fargo's Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities business and a founder of American Commercial Capital, a franchise finance business that was acquired by Wells Fargo in 2001 and renamed Wells Fargo Commercial Capital. Previously, he was a structured finance specialist in the fixed-income division at Goldman Sachs and CS First Boston.

He takes over the position from Dave Weber, who recently became head of credit for Wells Fargo Wholesale Banking.

Wells Fargo & Co. is a diversified financial services company based in San Francisco.
