Hyperion Brookfield hires Erikson, Cryan, Shipley, Heslop and McManus for new high yield team

Des Moines, Sept. 6 - Hyperion Brookfield Asset Management, Inc. announced the formation of a high yield investment team.

Joining the new group are Dana E. Erikson as managing director, senior portfolio manager and head of the high yield team; Richard M. Cryan as managing director and senior portfolio manager; Mark Shipley as director, high yield credit research; Alicia Heslop as director, high yield credit research; and John G. McManus, Jr., as director, high yield trading.

All five are joining Hyperion Brookfield from Evergreen Investments. Erikson has 19 year of industry experience, most recently as head of the high yield group and portfolio manager for several mutual funds there.

Cryan, who has been in the high yield market for 26 years, was most recently head of the institutional and separate account high yield business.

Shipley, who focuses on the auto, chemical, energy, and transportation industries, was previously a director and senior analyst with Evergreen's high yield group.

Heslop has 16 years of investment experience, currently focusing on the aerospace and defense, gaming, lodging & leisure and consumer industries. She was most recently a director and senior analyst at Evergreen.

McManus was with Evergreen's high yield group as head trader since 1990.

Hyperion Brookfield is an investment advising company based in New York. The high yield investment team will be located in Boston.
