SG to launch U.S. leveraged finance business
By Jennifer Chiou
New York, June 29 - SG Corporate & Investment Banking plans to offer U.S. leveraged financial services in the United States.
Powell Robinson, head of financing for the Americas, and Rene de Laigue, global head of leveraged and acquisition finance, will lead the New York-based business, which adds to the company's European leveraged finance franchise.
The company expects to compile a 10-member team by year-end to focus on debt arranging, underwriting, bookrunning and other financial services that range from senior and mezzanine or second-lien debt underwriting to high yield and equity asset classes.
"With the creation of the U.S. arm of our leveraged finance business, we will extend our reach to key clients - and investors - on both sides of the Atlantic and transform a regional business into a global one," said de Laigue in a news release.
SG Corporate & Investment Banking is the corporate and investment banking arm of the Paris-based Société Générale Group.
