GE Commercial Finance promotes Buchanan in anticipation of increased restructuring financing

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, June 16 - GE Commercial Finance Corporate Lending promoted Bruce Buchanan to managing director, leading the national restructuring group, according to a company news release.

"The robust high-yield market over the last few years has led to some very aggressive capital structures. This should fuel increased restructuring finance activity over the next 12 months and we plan to continue to be very responsive within the sector," Buchanan said in the release.

Buchanan joined GE in 2001 and most recently served as co-head of originations and prior to that was senior vice-president, team leader for the East region of the national restructuring group.

"We intend to build on our already very strong market position in restructuring finance, providing debtor-in-possession, plan-of-reorganization, and out-of-court financings," Buchanan added in the release.

Prior to joining the company, Buchanan held a variety of corporate finance positions with Bank of America, ING Capital and Houlihan Lokey.

He holds an MBA in finance from New York University and a BA in accounting and business administration from SUNY Albany.

GE Commercial Finance Corporate Lending offers financing to clients from middle-market companies to large corporations.
