Guggenheim hires Kurtz

New York, May 17 - Guggenheim Capital Markets, LLC said it hired Andrew Kurtz as a managing director in its leveraged finance group.

Kurtz will focus on expanding the New York broker/dealer's research effort and other parts of its leveraged finance business.

Kurtz was previously a co-managing member of Spectrum Group Management, LLC, managers of hedge funds focused on bridge loans and other senior secured debt collateralized by real estate and other tangible assets. Before that he was a portfolio manager at Elliott Associates focusing on distressed real estate, sovereign debt and other distressed debt.
