Merriman Curhan hires Roden to head new leveraged finance group

New York, April 20 - Merriman Curhan Ford & Co. said it hired Robert Roden as managing director to head its new leveraged finance group.

Greg Curhan, president of Merriman Curhan Ford, said that "Rob's leveraged finance expertise brings an entirely new capability to our firm and one that I believe will effectively complement the broad range of equity products that we already provide to our clients as we begin to see more convergence across sectors and products."

Roden was previously a principal at Banc of America Mezzanine Capital LLC in San Francisco. In that position, he served as adviser and underwriter of private debt securities, handling leveraged finance credit and equity analyses.

Before Banc of America, he was vice president at Finova Mezzanine Capital.

Don Hubbard, head of investment banking at San Francisco-based Merriman Curhan, said that "Rob's experience in leveraged finance enables [Merriman Curhan] to offer our clients new means by which to access the capital markets in this tumultuous environment."
