Jefferies hires Ponterotto to private debt placement group

Pittsburgh, March 17 - Jefferies & Co. Inc. said it hired John M. Ponterotto as a senior vice president in the firm's private debt placements group.

Ponterotto has been a Wall Street professional for nearly 18 years. Prior to Jefferies, he was president and head of private placements for Financo Securities.

He has held similar private placement positions at CIBC World Markets, BMO Nesbitt Burns Securities and Barclays and began his career in investment banking at Merrill Lynch.

Ponterotto received an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Chicago.

Jefferies is a New York-based global investment bank and institutional securities firm.
