Piper Jaffray hires Ben May as head of high-yield and structured products
New York, Nov. 16 - Piper Jaffray said it hired Ben May as head of High-yield and structured products in the firm's corporate and institutional services business.
May will oversee high-yield and structured products sales and trading as well as debt capital markets.
He will report to Tom Schnettler, head of corporate and institutional services and will serve on the corporate and institutional services operating committee.
May previously worked as Wachovia where he was most recently head of credit products. He was also head of high-yield sales, trading and research and head of fixed-income sales, trading and research. Before that, May has been head of high-yield and high-grade bond trading at Dillon Reed & Co. and he began as a corporate bond trader at Drexel Burnham Lambert.
"Ben has outstanding experience and knowledge in this industry and we look forward to his leadership as we look to grow this platform and offer another key financing capability for our clients," said Schnettler in a news release.
