ING Bank makes promotions in Asia

New York, Dec. 16 - ING Bank NV announced a series of senior management appointments in Asia.

First up, Malcolm Brown will step up as head of wholesale banking clients from his previous position of head of corporate finance, Asia. Brown joined ING in 1989.

From 1995 to 1990, he was the head of mergers & acquisitions in Asia and prior to that worked in the mergers and acquisitions division of Baring Brothers in London for four years.

Next, Grenville Thynne will take over as head of corporate finance, Asia. Prior to this move, he worked as head of corporate finance for Australia and has also worked in Hong Kong as head of the financial institutions group for Asia.

Before joining ING in 2000, Thynne was head of ABN Amro's financial institutions team in the region.

In another move, Hans Grisel is promoted to country manager, Singapore and head of lending, Asia from his current role as country manager, Japan. He has worked for ING since 1982.

And Jean-Francois Gillard has been named country manager, Hong Kong. He will also remain as country manager for China. He has worked in Asia since 1996.

In May 2003, he was appointed head of corporate financial services, Greater China and general manager of ING Hong Kong Branch.
