ING names Stephen Briones country head of Thailand

By Reshmi Basu

New York, July 20 - ING has appointed Stephen Briones as country head of Thailand.

Briones will be responsible for managing and developing wholesale banking client coverage activities, and provide clients in Thailand with access to ING's advisory and debt-financing expertise.

With 10 years of experience in Asia, Briones joins ING from Devonshire Capital Group, where he led the origination and execution of transactions throughout South East Asia and India since 2002. He was also part of a team who helped Devonshire establish an investment banking joint venture with Kiatnakin Finance Group in Thailand.

Before Devonshire, he worked as a consultant to Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds in Thailand, and was chief financial officer of Web Advisory Company, a Bangkok-based Interne advisory group.

He was also a first vice-president in corporate finance at Jardine Fleming and worked in equity research and corporate finance at ING Barings from 1995 to 1998.

He reports to John Howland-Jackson, head of wholesale relationship management, and David Hudson, chief financial officer of ING Bank, Asia.
