ING names Versavel country head for South Korea

New York, June 15 - ING said it has named Erik Versavel as country manager for South Korea, starting Aug. 15.

Versavel joins the team in Korea from his current role of country manager - China, a position he has held since 2002.

"ING sees Korea as a key part of our franchise in the region," said David Hudson, chief executive officer of ING Bank - Asia, in a news release.

"We have been active in the market since 1991 and Erik's expertise will add significantly to our activities in the market."

Versavel has worked as a corporate banker in London, Seoul and Jakarta where he became head of debt restructuring and a director of PT ING Indonesia Bank in 1998.

In 2000, he moved to Shanghai to become general manager of the ING Shanghai branch.
