Barclays Capital adds six directors in emerging markets

New York, April 7 - Barclays Capital announced that it has brought on six directors to the trading, sales and research divisions of its emerging markets business.

"The emerging markets business is a key growth area for the firm, and these appointments reflect our commitment to developing this platform," said Thomas Kalaris, Barclay's chief executive officer for the Americas.

Andrew McDougal comes aboard as director and head of rates trading for Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa (EEMEA) and Latin America. Previously, he was the head of trading at Credit Suisse Securities in London.

Jose Canepa joins as director and head of sovereign bond trading for EEMEA in London. Prior to Barclays, he held the same position at Lehman Brothers.

Another addition is Andrew Caswall who comes on as director and head of corporate bond trading for EEMEA in London. He will be responsible for secondary market trading of hard currency corporate emerging debt in EEMEA credits. He joins from ING.

Ennio Montinaro will serve as director in emerging markets sales in New York. Previously, he held the same position at Merrill Lynch.

Another addition is Michael Hood who joins as director and senior sovereign strategist for Latin America in New York. He comes from JP Morgan where he was responsible for economics for Latin America.

And lastly, Guatam Jain joins as director and senior emerging quantitative strategist in New York. Prior to Barclays, he held that position at Millennium Partners, where he also served as a portfolio manager.
