LSTA elects CSFB's Pollard board chair; BofA's Stewart, Lehman's Lies co-vice chairs

New York, Jan. 23 - The Loan Syndications and Trading Association announced the election of new members of its board of directors and the appointment of board officers for 2004, with Don Pollard, managing director and global co-head of the syndicated loan group at Credit Suisse First Boston, chosen as board chair.

Other officers elected include as co-vice chairs Glenn Stewart, who is managing director - syndicate desk at Bank of America, and Mark Lies, who is managing director, global head of loans and co-head of global leveraged finance at Lehman Brothers. Elected as the new treasurer was Eric Chilton, who is managing director, global loan syndications at Barclays Capital.

"The board continues to strive for greater efficiency and liquidity in the loan marketplace. Through consensus, the LSTA has implemented standards and practices for all market participants and has accomplished significant momentum for the loan asset class. We look forward to supporting and building future measures," said Pollard in a LSTA news release.

Five new members joined LSTA's board including Michael Campbell, senior portfolio manager at ING Capital Advisors LLC; Scott Krase, portfolio manager at Oak Hill Advisors; Pete Vaky, managing director and head of structured finance at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey; Nancy Del Genio, sales manager - primary sales at Deutsche Bank; and Jack Yang, partner at Highland Capital Management.

The five returning board members include Bank of America's Glenn Stewart; Barclays Capital's Chilton; Jon Calder, managing director, SSB global loans - sales and trading at Citigroup; CSFB's Pollard; and Mike McAdams, president and chief investment officer at Four Corners Capital.

Eight board members were not subject to re-election at this time and will serve the final year of their term this year.

These members include Jim Baldino, managing director, loan sales, trading, research, syndication and loan processing at Bank One; Anthony Clemente, managing director and head of high-yield loans at Invesco Senior Secured Management Inc.; Michael Doherty, managing director, sales and trading, debt capital markets at National City Bank; Elliot Ganz, associate general counsel at CIBC World Markets; Naseem Haffar, manager of par loan sales at JPMorgan Chase; Steve Hickey, head of bank loan sales and trading at Goldman Sachs & Co.; Lehman's Mark Lies; and Howard Tiffen, portfolio manager at Van Kampen Investments.
